Most browser games ask you to lower your expectations first. Deadeye Arena does not.
It is a proper 3D western wave shooter. It runs in a tab. And it is built out of the same world we have been making for years.
🤠 This is Chalk River, and that is the whole point
Deadeye Arena is not a side project wearing a cowboy hat. The characters, the rigs, the revolvers, the saloon interior you fight inside: they come from Chalk River, our Wild West metaverse RPG.
That is what makes the arena worth building. The world already existed, with characters people already own, so the shooter is not a demo of an idea. It is a different way to be inside a place we have already built. Step into the arena as Annie Colter, free to everyone, and the stat line under her name (health, strength, accuracy, stamina, toughness, speed) is the same language the rest of the world speaks.
🔫 Survive escalating waves
The loop is old and it is undefeated. Outlaws come. More outlaws come. They come faster.
- WASD to move, mouse to look
- Left click to fire, right click to aim
- Shift to sprint, Space to jump, C to crouch, R to reload
- 1 to 4 to switch weapons
Click the screen to lock the mouse. Escape frees it. That is the entire tutorial.
🆓 Free Play, and it means free
Practise the arena and climb the daily board. No entry, no stakes. Just survive as long as you can. Connect a wallet if you want your best score saved, and not if you do not.
💰 The Pot: a 24-hour skill contest
For the ones who want the run to matter, there is The Pot.
- Pay 250 VDT once. That is your entry for the full 24-hour round.
- Then play as many times as you want. Only your best run counts on the board.
- When the timer hits zero, the top scores split the pot (every entry, minus a 5% fee).
- Ties break by skill: deeper wave first, then more kills. Never by who entered first.
That last rule is deliberate. A tiebreak on entry order rewards refreshing the page at the right moment. A tiebreak on how far you actually got rewards shooting better. Real VDT, and it is a skill contest rather than a draw.
